Projections are guesses, plain and simple. But everyone keeps making them, so why the hell shouldn't I? Well, I asked myself that very question as I was getting ready to write, and I couldn't find one good reason why I can't do it. If you look at the "experts", I think I am right about who is going to do well and who is gonna suck about as much as they are. So, after looking through what the others offer, here my thoughts on the subject.
- Look for Matt Schaub to put up good numbers against the suddenly weak Pussycats (Jaquars) defense, say 300 yards and 3 TDs
- Aaron Rodgers will break out finally this week against the Ram defense that surrendered good numbers to Matt Hasslebeck in week one. They did do better again Jason Campbell, but it is Jason Campbell afterall. Rodgers will get his first 300 yard game and multi-TD game of the year.
- The hapless Browns defense might shut down Joe Flacco, but only if they can't stop the run at all (which might happen). I am willing to bet 250+ and 2 TDs for Flacco this weekend.
- Byron Leftwhich will be running for his life, with his slow delivery, against the Giants defense. I don't see him posting much more than 200 yard and maybe a TD late in mop up duty.
- The Jets defense has been very good this year so far, and will continue to be, so don't count on monster numbers out of Chris Johnson. They might be ok, perhaps 100 combined and a TD, but nothing more.
- Matt Forte will get going this week against Seattle, with 100+ combined yards and at least one TD, don't ask me why I think so, it is just a feeling!
- Knowshon Moreno is have a tough going against an improving Raider's defense, featuring a PISSED OFF Richard Seymour tearing things up, 60 yards tops.
- I am praying Brandon Jacobs finally steps up his game, and the Buccs are just the ticket. 100+ and 2 TDs for him this weekend (because he is on my fantasy team too).
- Ok, for another back looking to get on track, look for Ryan Grant to finally have a good day against the Rams. He will catch a few check downs and screens from Rodgers and will rack up 100 yards. I am thinking 120 combined and at least a TD.
- Who is going to slow down Cedric Benson? The Steeler won't. Give him a TD and 80+ against the Steel Curtain.
- Andre Johnson should have another stellar games against the Jags, with 100+, 2 TDs and about 9 balls.
- Stay away from both the Smiths... you know, Steve Smith... no, the other Steve Smith... oh, both of them. Neither will see the end zone or more than 70 yards.
- Devery Henderson will come back to Earth this week, I see maybe 50 yards and not a TD in sight, but Marques Colston will continue to roll, 80+ and a TD for him.
- The Jets found the game plan for stopping Randy Moss, get physical at the line with a safety over the top. I think the Falcons will learn from this lesson and keep Moss out of the end zone and perhaps 80 yards.
- Ocho Cinco will be shut down by the Steelers as the harrass Carson Palmer all day. The artist formerly known as Chad Johnson will only get 60 yards and no TDs.
- Brent Celek might be the real deal, but can Kerry Kolb get him the ball? I think so, especially with DeSean Jackson on the shelf. 75+ and a TD this week.
- JerMichael Finley is going to like the turf in St. Louis and should get 60+ and a TD this week as Coach McCarthy finds ways to get him the ball.
- Visanthe Shiancone will continue to disappoint, finding only a few grabs and 30 yards maybe.
Now, I don't know if any of this crap will come true, neither does anyone else (except for the last one). Just educated guesses. Flip a coin eh?
