Injury Impacts - early injury updates from the weekend and their impact. There weren't many to talk about, so I threw in another couple interesting moves Monday.
Owen Daniels is done for the year with an ACL injury. Owens, the former Wisconsin Badger, was having a very solid season, and was being talked about in the same breath as Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzales. The impact will be to the check down game to Steve Slaton or Ryan Moats (more on that later). The other WRs might see a bit more action as well. Can anyone say Kevin Walters? I had to look up Daniels' back up, a guy named Joel Dreessen. Not much value there I think.
Steve Slaton got himself benched on Sunday after another fumble. In steps Ryan Moats, who instantly upgraded the to-date, lowly Texans running game. Combine these factors and a no-commit statement from the Texans today and Ryan Moats will be a hot comodity on the waiver wire.
Brian Westbrook should be back next week according to reports. He could have been ready against the Giants, but the Eagles wanted to be cautious. The fantasy impact is to LeSean McCoy, who posted a nice game in substituting for Westbrook.
What's up? - Some players whose stock is up and are worth notice.
Chris Chambers was let go today in a surprise move by the Chargers. Given the All-World status Vincent Jackson is pushing, and the complete lack of production out of Chambers, it is not a complete surprise. Malcom Floyd might be a good pickup as a flex or bye-week replacement if you need help.
Roy Williams had a couple grabs and a TD in coming back from a rib injury, seeming to have lost his mojo to Miles Austin. That has not really changed, unless perhaps Dallas will start playing to Roy's strengths (Slants and other routes that use his large body well). Not much value right now, but bears watching.
Short Column today, more tomorrow. See ya!
